Things got pretty cold here this past week, and cold weather issues that I always forget about started to appear. My number one cold weather complaint? Dry, chapped lips. Every winter, I try everything I can to find relief for my lips, but it's always such a struggle. Between hot showers, daily allergy medicine, and cranking up the heat, my lips suffer.
This year, I decided to try a DIY lip scrub that I found on Pinterest. To my pleasant surprise, this might just be the answer to my problems. And bonus, I had almost everything in my kitchen! The recipe was totally simple and the result was a pretty, very tasty exfoliant that left my lips super soft.
Here is the super easy recipe:
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon olive oil
1 teaspoon Vaseline (optional- I left this out)
food coloring (I used pink. Careful, a little goes a long way!)
Combine all ingredients in a bowl and transfer to a small jar or container. Then just take a small amount of the scrub and rub it gently onto your lips (I applied mine with a Q-Tip). Rinse with water and apply your favorite lip balm.
Use it twice a week for soft, smooth lips. Couldn't be easier!!
